When was the last time you fell in love with a new artist or song? Has it been a while? Well don’t worry! There is a free online music streaming service that will only play the music you love. To understand just how they do this, you need to hear about the Music Genome Project.

Since Pandora started back in 2000, they’ve been working on the Music Genome Project. It's the most comprehensive analysis of music ever undertaken. They put together a team of music-analysts and had them listen to music, one song at a time, studying and collecting literally hundreds of musical details on every track - melody, harmony, instrumentation, rhythm, vocals, and lyrics. Those details were then mapped to millions of songs on a catalog and continually updated as new music comes out.
You can explore this vast trove of music to your heart's content for free on Pandora. Just drop the name of one of your favorite songs, artists or genres and let the Music Genome Project go. It will quickly scan its entire world of analyzed music, almost a century of popular recordings - new and old, well known and completely obscure - to find songs with interesting musical similarities to your choice. Then sit back and enjoy as it creates a listening experience full of current and soon-to-be favorite songs for you.
So what's the catch? Well due to the way outdated international licensing works, Pandora restricts access to its amazing music catalog to listeners outside the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand. The brilliant news is that you can now fool Pandora into thinking that you're in within their allowable region.
To do this, you need to use some kind of proxy service. There are many different services out there, from free to paid-for. What you use also depends on the type of device that you're using. For me, I believe the best option is to sign up for a Smart DNS service, which will work with practically any device, from PC to smart TV. This clever tool 'tunnels' its way into another country, giving you a new IP address that makes your computer look as though it's located there rather than in Nigeria. Smart DNS services are cheaper than traditional VPNs and give you a much faster connection so you can stream without buffering. They also don't require you to install any software (sometimes malicious); you just have to change your device's DNS network settings.
So, to listen to Pandora, I recommend that you choose a smart DNS service, specifically my favourite, Tunlr. What separates Tunlr from others is its fast speeds and low price. In fact, Tunlr is offering our readers a full year of unblocking for only $9.99 with no bandwidth restrictions! Not sure you’ll love it? No worries. They’re also including a 30 day money back guarantee, no questions asked. Hard to argue with that price considering other Smart DNS services charge $50.00 per year and traditional VPNs over $100.00 per year.

How to stream Pandora in under 1 minute

Complete your login information and pay with your credit card (get it today for a full year of unblocking for only $9.99 with no bandwidth restrictions)
Once you’ve logged in you’ll be taken to the “How to Set Up” page. Tunlr will alert you that you haven’t setup the service yet. There will be a window in your network settings to input and save your new Tunlr DNS. You have the option of setting up Tunlr on the device you’re currently on (most likely Windows or a Mac), other devices like game consoles or Apple TV, or on your router. I would suggest you set it up on your computer first because it’s easiest and quickest. Once you’re happy with Tunlr on your computer you can venture out and try other devices.
You’ll then arrive in the Tunlr “Support Center”. There are detailed instructions with screenshots to help you get setup fast. I won’t post every small step here but when it comes down to it all you need to do is change your DNS settings. There will be a window in your network settings to input and save your new Tunlr DNS. Then go back to the Tunlr “Services” page and you’ll see a confirmation message that your device is set up.
Go ahead and check out Pandora. You’ll now be able to listen to amazing curated music from the best streaming service online. Also, check out all the other streaming services Tunlr supports. My personal favourites are BBC iPlayer, CBS, and Comedy
